Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The active ingredient is 12% lactic acid neutralized with ammonium hydroxide. This natural AHA is equivalent to other prescription lactic acid moisturizing agents. Great for seriously dry skin conditions like eczema, icthyoses, psoriasis and keratosis pilaris. In a lighter base for those with oilier skin types, or those who live in humid climates.

5 out of 5 stars AmLactin   July 1, 2010
Ed
I was born with a dry skin condition called ichtheosis, disease of the fish. It is not a serious problem, but it is annoying, especially in the winter when my skin becomes so dry that I can cover the floor around me with dead skin when I scratch the itchy places. For years I tried just about every lotion on the market. When I discovered AmLactin I discovered the proverbial gold. It defoliates the skin better than anything. By using it daily I now have baby skin in some places. AmLactin is not a cure for the currently incurable ichtheosis, but it's the best over the counter thing out there. The only draw back is that it is rather expensive. However, you don't need much of it to spread over affected parts, in my case most of my body.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   May 19, 2010

I tried all kinds of specialized foot cremes for my dry, cracked heels. My dermatologist gave me a sample of AmLactin and in 2 days I noticed a difference, within 2 weeks my heels and back of ankles are soft and smooth. Great for dry knees and elbows too.

this is absolutely the best lotion i have ever used. it is not greasy, but your skin glows after use and stays supple for several hours. i have had several comments from people about how smooth and healthy my skin looks. i have tried numerous brands over the years but this one is the only one worth the money.

5 out of 5 stars Worth every penny for what it does   February 2, 2010

I actually bought the product, originally, to moisturize my face after working out and showering at the gym. At first, it felt a little "greasy", but my face really did feel (and look) better. The unexpected benefit is that my thumbs no longer split/crack in the winter from drying out (at the corner of the thumb-nail). For the last two winters (north-central Illinois) my hands have been softer and crack-free! I've recommended the product to some friends with dry hands and they also love it.

Using Amlactin twice daily has improved my skin more than any other moisturizer I've tried so far.
