I just ordered this from Amazon because the store we shop at seems to have stopped carrying it (I hate it when stores do that... suddenly stop carrying certain products and/or brands!). After searching several stores, we managed to find a couple of packages, but I was relieved to see it here on Amazon. I don't think it is a rough toilet paper at all... not even close to the rough cheap stuff you find in public restrooms, but it isn't as soft as some of the toilet papers out there (many of which are too soft, leaving pieces of tissue 'fluff' everywhere). The main reason we like this particular toilet paper is because of the roll size. The mega rolls last SO MUCH longer than even 'double roll' size. For whatever reason, we go through a lot of toilet paper (could be because we have daughters... and I think women tend to go through TP faster... not sure), and I found myself replacing the 'other' rolls (we had to purchase when we couldn't find the mega roll) waaaaaaaaaay too often. As for the roll size... when Charmin first came out with this 'mega' roll size, they included a special toilet paper roll holder with each package... just a plastic holder like most others are, but it has a bit of extension to it to accommodate the extra size of the roll. It seems they only included these for a limited time. I guess they figured those that bought the product don't need a new holder every time... though that makes it so new customers don't get the special holder. If it helps at all, the new packages we found after scouring other local stores, (while still being 'mega' rolls) state that the rolls are guaranteed to fit. Not sure how they have made mega rolls small enough to fit a standard holder... I hope it doesn't mean they have made the tp thinner. I guess we'll find out(;

These rolls really are huge! They don't fit on our holder til after a few layers have been used. Well, let me rephrase that - the rolls do fit on the holder, but it presses up against the wall so when you try to tear some off the roll won't spin and you just get a single square. There are extenders you can buy, but we just wait til after a few uses and then put it on the holder. it is really not that big of an issue.

This toilet paper is by no means rough! I am not sure why some say it is. To me it feels like a soft smooth microfiber cloth in terms of texture and strength. It is thick toilet paper, but it is soft. I made a point to tell my kids not to use as much as usual because as soon as you feel it and see how thick it is you can just imagine the toilet clogs!

If you like a thick toilet paper then this is the one you want! It doesn't shred, tear during use or leave little pieces behind. I did not notice any lint at all either coming from it. Definitely good stuff!

Charmon ultra mega size is the best toilet paper around. very soft but also very strong. Does not shred or pill. Simply the best!!

Actually I'm writing about the amazing savings and convenience. It costs less than club store prices and is delivered to your door. In addition you get an extra discount for signing on for regular deliveries. We haven't had it so good since milk came in a bottle and was left on the porch.

The product is great, price is great, service is great. Actually I'm wondering how they do it.

BY THE WAY. To clear something up. I bought my stuff from Amazon not the company listed above. Amazon was a much better deal--I don't know for sure how I got this other outfit.

I bought this because I was running low on the stuff, too lazy to stop by the supermarket and have a prime membership (free 2 day shipping, yay!) What was surprising and that I somehow missed in the description was that you get 18 HUGE rolls of paper. I won't be running low for quite a while. I also got this for what I guess was new item pricing. So I ended up paying quite a bit less than a dollar per roll. Awesome deal!

As for the product...it's toilet paper. What can I say about it? It works. It's not the super soft that used to be equated with Charmin, but it's not sandpaper either. A tad bit "rougher" than my preferred Cottonelle, but not as hard as Scott which my parents prefer.

All in all, I'd order again at the same price.

I've been noticing that that the paper doesn't like the "normal" flush. I live in an apartment so I don't have a toilet tank. I have one of those industrial-like toilets that is all pipes and bowl. Anyway, I find anything more than a couple of sheets and I have to flush 2 or 3 times or flush and hold to get the paper to go down. A problem I've never had before.

I guess that's the drawback of a bathroom tissue strong enough to be paper towels.

Can't say what it might be doing to a household system, especially an older or septic tank-based one. Anyway, something you may want to consider before buying.
