4 out of 5 stars Roto Duster   April 6, 2009

This works great for dusting ceiling, vents, ect. Dust does fly around when things are really dusty. I makes dusting antiques with lots of corners and details really easy. Dustcloth works better for large surfaces, but I am really glad to have this for louvered doors, vents, ceilings, etc. Will buy again if I need to, becuase feather dusters are just about the same price and I might as well get this one.

2 out of 5 stars Not so great   February 29, 2008

If you watch the RotoDuster commercial you will see happy (of course!) ladies breezily dusting with the graceful and rapidly spinning RotoDuster.

You won't *hear* the thing in that commercial. But mine makes an interesting, whiney rrr-rrr-rr sound as it slowly turns the brush. Oh, it works, but hardly as jauntily as the commercial shows. The two longer brushes are a bit off balance which only adds to the work the underpowered motor must do. The short brush is well balanced, and of course not as heavy - but still spins at a lackluster rate. The handle is quite long, and the whole thing feels a bit awkward in the hand.

Still, the thing does an OK job. I attacked some very dusty areas of the house, and RotoDuster gruntingly removed the dust. Maybe by redistributing it into the air; I couldn't really tell. The brush was easy to wash in the sink. Now, where to put it while it dries? Hmm.

The picture shows a blue brush, but mine is a purplish-blue. The brushes, while not well balanced, do seem durable enough to last a few years. I dunno if the motor/handle assembly will make it that long - though I suspect not.

2 stars. But then I wouldn't be much more enthusiastic about a feather duster.

It's a very good idea just short of being a really good idea. Needs an extender for ceiling fans, etc...also needs better fitting brushes...they seem flimsy. I sure like the idea tho. Gets into hard to reach areas like the china cabinets etc, without moving much around. A really good idea. Hope it will be improved.
